INFORMATION

In preparation for your upcoming visit, we have compiled some information to help you with your plans.

Please remember that passports are absolutely necessary.  You will not be allowed to cross the border without one.

Hunting Licenses:
These are provided by us to you in the form of an export permit at the end of your hunt for all the animals you might have collected.

Elk Guiding:
Hunters will be with guides at all times.  Our guides are very experienced at scoring "in the field" and will try to get you to the top of your chosen category.  If by chance your hunt goes over your chosen category, the difference in price will be split between you and Echo Lake Hunts (50/50).  All hunts are 2 on 1 or 3 on 1 semi guided.

This is a 100% guaranteed hunt meaning we will get you on the class of bull elk you are after, but then it is up to the hunter to be able to do the rest.  There is not a 100% guarantee however for archery.  Hunters will be expected to turn to a rifle before the hunt is complete.  We try our best with archery, but Echo Lake Hunts is a difficult and true hunt experience, and sometimes it just doesn't work out.  There will be a mandatory base price for all archery hunts.

Trophies:
Our primary goal is to get your expensive, irreplaceable skins and horns to you in excellent condition.  All capes will be skinned off, cooled and then frozen.  If you are driving up and are planning to haul back your trophies, bring along extra coolers for your frozen capes (to keep them frozen).  If you are flying we have coolers available on the Ranch for you to purchase at wholesale price.  With proper export papers from us you will not encounter any problems at the border going home.

Alcohol & Drugs:
Alcohol is welcome but not tolerated before or during the hunt.  Excessive drinking will not be allowed for reasons including safety.  While persons over the age of 19 are legally permitted to smoke marijuana in Saskatchewan, we remind our guests that this is only permitted on private property and residences.  The policy at Echo Lake Hunts is to NOT allow the consumption of marijuana in any form, including edibles.  This is done for safety and legal reasons.  If you have a prescription for the medicinal use of marijuana, we invite you to contact us to discuss your individual needs.

Clothing:
Expect moderate fall weather and bring medium warm gear.  We normally do not encounter extreme winter weather in September.  Please bring comfortable waterproof boots and raingear.  Mornings and evenings are often damp, and good hunting boots will make your hunt much more enjoyable.  A medium sized backpack is also needed for hunting items such as rangefinders (not necessary as your guide will have one), binoculars, a small flashlight, water bottles/snacks, etc.

Additional Animals:
Elk is the primary objective on most hunts.  We want each client to collect the trophy bull elk of their choice and dreams.  After you have your elk, please discuss with us any further hunts you may wish to partake in.
